Seaview Motel & Cottages (seaviewmotelandcottages.com) was one of the first sites we built, back in 1997, so it was exciting to see it come into 2016 with new code. In fact, beachdog.com owners Keith and Keleigh were once co-proprietors of the Motel & RV Park property the domain beachdog.com served both businesses back at the beginning of the internet.
In the <gasp> nearly 20 years that have passed, the internet has changed so.very.much and the site was no longer able to garner much of a Google rank or assist customers on mobile devices. In addition, updating photos and information was tedious and, as a result, more costly than it needed to be.
We built a new Seaview Motel & Cottages site, in WordPress, and moved the current content and photos in to create the new site’s pages. Owners Fred and Ming Speer provided updates to weave in at the same time. We were able to be super efficient because the Speers trusted us to echo branding work we had done on their rack card; there wasn’t a lot of specification from them regarding layout, look and feel and we already had their style sheet and logo in our files. This meant a low price tag which made everyone happy.
We’re pleased with the new Seaview Motel & Cottages site, which accurately reflects the property and poises it well for online marketing into the next decade. Not only does this improve the business’ ability to market itself now, it adds to the resale value of the property now that it is again a strong marketing tool.
