Depoe Bay Inn

Depoe Bay Inn isn’t the Harbor Lights Anymore!

New ownership has meant a lot of positive change for the Depoe Bay Inn.  Overlooking the world’s smallest navigable harbor, the Inn is a Bed & Breakfast for grownups.  13 freshly appointed rooms, a jetted tub, exquisite surroundings, full breakfast in the morning and even rooms that come with binoculars round out some of the highlights of this coastal secret.   All the amenities: wi-fi, VCR/DVD players, an iron, hair dryer, ceiling fan and fireplaces are at your fingertips and the building, as well as some of its rooms and tubs, is handicap accessible. Pleasant extras include an umbrella, plenty of movies in the lobby, a choice of king or queen beds, plus tables, chairs and a desk. Patios and balconies sport seating areas to enhance your watching of boats. New in 2016 are event or group facilities, perfect for reunions or meetings with a touch of coastal class.

We especially like the room slideshows with information overlays that are simple to edit.

We began by developing a new logo.  The bridge at the gateway to the harbor has been associated to the inn for a long time so it was kept as a nod to that history.  We chose a contemporary, yet timeless font and added text to draw attention to the new restaurant as well as the Inn.  The logo flexes into variations for the restaurant and other connected projects.

Staff wear khaki and navy so the logo was designed to be friendly for embroidery onto staff shirts.  The website continued that color palette, with a casual, classy feel, and an email template was developed to carry that look and feel forward.

Manager Taffy Gleason provided all new text and photos and was an outstanding proofreader, ensuring consistency and accuracy in both presentation and information.  It’s great for us when we have a client who pays close attention to detail because we know site owners will always know more about the details of the project – their website – than ourselves.

The new site is database-driven, responsive, HTML5 compliant and easy for Inn staff to update without assistance.  The site was built with growth in mind, making it easy to change and expand in the coming years.
