Water Music Festival: 20 years makes a difference

water music festival society website

Here’s a little known fact:  The very first commercial site I ever built was for Water Music Festival.

Back then, it was chamber music performances in the fall with a little jazz event at the Oysterville School in August to raise funds to produce them.  Half a dozen watermusicfestival.com websites and nearly twenty years later, it was a joy to realize just how much Water Music Festival Society (WMFS) has changed and grown.

The new site allows WMFS to showcase upcoming events – there are several now, throughout the year – sell tickets, and more.  Maps to performance venues, contact information for each event’s coordinator and many other details make the site a truly user-friendly vehicle for marketing WMFS events.  The quickly loading site is fully responsive to all sizes of monitors and devices, a critically important feature in 2016.

You’ll find more than chamber music at WMFS events these days, too.  The one thing that remains consistent is the organization’s commitment to local youth.  The fall concert series still includes at least one free event annually as well as a performance at the local middle/high school.

This incarnation of the website got a jump start using an already-developed WordPress theme.  Our beachdog.com team customized the theme, adding and removing both form and function to meet the needs of WMFS.  Re-vamping the site in this way allowed us to give the group a website with expensive features at a much more reasonable cost.
