We helped the group build a web site when their efforts began a few years back, before anyone was too concerned with their site being mobile-friendly. The time had come to give it a new life!
Keepers of the North Head Lighthouse
Thanks to Keepers of the North Head Lighthouse, volunteers working with Washington State Parks, it appears funding is largely arranged for restoration of this majestic lady. She’s had preliminary structural and cosmetic work, including her cap being restored to its original black color.
Here, we pause to give high praise to Lona Niemi and Richard Dawson, who were instrumental in getting the project rolling and feeding us needed images and information along the way.
The new site showcases the group’s new logo and, most importantly, has lots of space for photos to show off the object of their affection: The North Head Lighthouse.
Take a click to learn more about this icon, the shipwrecks she oversees, and how you can get involved in ensuring her well-being into the future. When you visit in person, be sure to check out not only the gift shop in the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center but also the Lighthouse Store near the Lightkeeper’s Residence.
