Experience Twilight Guide

Another exciting day in our beachdog.com world!  Kathy Kidd recently became an author when her Experience Twilight Guide was published.  Sabrina Kent did the illustrations for the book and Keleigh and Kathy co-designed the cover.  We’re all very excited for Kathy and the success she’s having with her book.  It’s being very well-received!

Today’s exciting news is the release of the book on Amazon.com.  It’s pretty danged cool to see Kathy and Sabrina’s names up there as author & illustrator!!  If you’re a fan of Twilight, or even just want to take an interesting day trip or two to see the sights filmed, check out Experience Twilight.

Who says Mondays are rough?

The July/August issue of AAA Journey Magazine just came out, with SandSations listed as a top pick for fun Northwest happenings.   Of course, it’s always exciting to see the Peninsula get this kind of great press  (thanks to the team of Una Boyle and Carol Zahorsky).  Seeing one of our key passions, funbeach.com, in a magazine is something that never grows old, and mention of our SPCHS Pet Parade is a huge plus.  But there’s something about seeing one of your own photos, full page in AAA Magazine that is, well, pretty darned exciting.

Thanks to Craig for sending a scan of the page.  I can hardly wait until my copy comes in the mail!  ~Keleigh

Road Work Highlights for the coming week

Jun 21st, 2009 by Keleigh | 0

Have you driven the new mile of road that goes through downtown Long Beach (SR 103 between 15th Street SE and 13th Street NE–milepost 0.80 to 1.99)?  Knife River and WDOT sure are off to a great start.   There are several arms of this project still to be completed; expect it to continue through the summer.  Here are the highlights for the coming week:

Contractor crews will use hot-mix asphalt to pave US 101 between the Astoria-Megler Bridge and Fort Columbia vicinity (mileposts 1.85 to 2.46) and crews will chip seal SR 103 between Pioneer Road W and 255th Place (mileposts 2.53 to 10.77).

  • June 22: Daytime traffic reduced to a single lane, alternating directions with flaggers on US 101 in both directions at the Astoria-Megler Bridge (milepost 0) for signal sensor replacement operations.
  • June 22: Daytime shoulder closure and intermittent single lane closures will occur southbound on US 101, Southbound near the Potter Slough Bridge (milepost 52) for culvert repair operations.
  • June 22-23: Daytime slow moving maintenance vehicle on SR 103 in both directions between 264th Place and Oysterville Road (mileposts 12-18) for roadside maintenance operations
  • June 22-26: Daytime single lane closures on SR 103 for crack sealing work between Pioneer Road W and 255th Place (mileposts 2.53-10.77) for roadside maintenance operations.
  • June 24-25: Daytime slow moving maintenance vehicle on US 101, both directions between Sandridge Road and the Wallicut River Bridge in Seaview (mileposts 12-16) for roadside maintenance operations.

TYDTWD June 26th!

Jun 21st, 2009 by Keleigh | 1
TYDTWDNow in its tenth year, Take Your Dog To Work Day (TYDTWD) was created to celebrate the great companions dogs make and to encourage their adoption from humane societies, animal shelters and breed rescue clubs. Not only does it encourage employers to experience the value of pets in the workplace, it’s a special day to promote adoptions of shelter dogs.
Of course, here at beachdog.com, every day is a take your dog to work day, but June 26th is a day we promote EVERYONE joining us in experiencing the benefit of having dogs at work. We’re asking every business–great and small–to become a true friend of the canine community by promoting pet adoptions in a positive and proactive way!

Brief Bites

Jun 17th, 2009 by Keleigh | 0

Keith and I had a great time with folks in South Bend yesterday.  Mark your calendar for October 14th when the training will be done in Long Beach.  This disaster preparedness information is essential knowledge for businesses. Click for more information.

In other news… we have an unexpected opening in our web development schedule.  If you’ve been putting off building a new site, or updating one you’ve already got, now is the perfect time to give us a call (360-642-4431) and get that taken care of quickly.

We’re also looking for interested parties to cooperatively produce a map of Discovery Trail. Want some business exposure?  Give Keith a holler: 360-642-4431

Happy Tails!  ~Keleigh
