Crews wrap up early and reopen SR 103 in Long Beach
Thorough planning and favorable weather helped WSDOT’s contractor complete paving work early and reopen SR 103 in Long Beachnearly two days ahead of schedule.
At 6 p.m. tonight, WSDOT will open SR 103 between 15th Street SE and 13th Street NE (milepost 0.80 to 1.99). This section of highway had been closed since Monday, June 15 for paving and replacement of signal loops and pavement markings.
This work was part of a stimulus-funded project to preserve US 101 and SR 103 between the Fort Columbia vicinity and Long Beach vicinity. The project began construction on May 15 and is scheduled for completion in late August.
